RSL to Rollover for Dynamo?
By: Marc | August 4th, 2007Saturday evening’s Houston-RSL game is quite lopsided on paper: Houston haven’t lost in 11 straight league games and other than an Open Cup slipup and a careless giveaway tying goal in Superliga, have been nearly flawless. RSL meanwhile have the worst record in the league with only a single win all season. Plus they’re missing some key players with Adu gone, Andy Williams out with his red card suspension, and Eskandarian injured. It looks like Houston have three points in the bag, right?
But it’s games like this that can make a season for a team like RSL. Just like Houston’s season turned on a great performance against in-state rivals FC Dallas a few months ago, a win against Houston would be a huge motivator for RSL and they know it.
The cornered rat is dangerous. RSL has nothing to lose. While I don’t think Houston’s the kind of team that will take a team like this lightly and I’m confident they’ll get the three points, this could be a serious game. Watch for some hard tackles and aggressive play. Houston may have tired legs after all their Superliga games, so it’ll be interesting to see what lineup Dom puts out (Will he rest some normal starters?) and how they come out against a desperate and frustrated RSL.

Rollover? I think not! In the first half at least.
