My WTF?!?!?!?! face…
By: Daryl | March 31st, 2008So, I jumped threw all kinds of hoops to watch the game on Saturday only to be amazingly disappointed.
WTF was that? Seriously….Where the hell was our defense? The Dom was pissed and he had a right to be pissed, we just weren’t going forward. Don’t give me the Michael Parkhurst is an uber defender crap.
The cameras zoomed in on Dom and he mouthed “PUSH FORWARD!” which pretty much summed up our whole night.
The Rev’s on the other hand, all credit to Steve Nichol, the man has an eye for talent. Did you see those two Gambian teenagers tearing up Gillette field? and that 90th minute goal was just about the best goal in MLS you’ll ever see, he got the ball on the halfway line, skipped a few defenders, and then powered a thunderous shot in the back of the net, and it was all skill.
I won’t say we played bad because we didn’t we just didn’t have that final touch. I’ve been doing a lot of watching of defenses and Dwayne De Rosario, they know our secret, if you close De-Ro down you’ll close the rest of the team down and that’s not good. Playing him behind the strikers as a creative midfielder/striker is probably not the best idea because he’ll get man marked every time just as he was on Saturday.
All kudos to Stuart Holden, our ever burning bright star had a brilliant game even though we lost.
I’m going to go sulk for a bit and finish up some work while I go cry myself to sleep at our horrible start of the season.
