Long Hiatus, but back for good.

What a long break that was for me, almost as long as this boring international week that has no meaning other than to screw New England and TFC in the latter stages of this season. But that’s a wonderful thing because we sit 1st in the Western Conference 7 points ahead RSL.
Now time to reflect back a little on this long void without a post……
1)The Olympics – With Stuart Holden we have a gem I’ve always thought that even though he was the scapegoat on a foul that most likely cost us the chance to advance I still think he showed he has class and character under any circumstance…the kid’s got heart and I am very thankful he wears the orange shirt.
2)Brad “Superman” Davis – With Brad Dizzle now healthy as a horse he has come on strong late season to show why the Dom has trust in him, he scores lightning bolts for goals and is a assist machine the goal he scored on KC over the weekend was the one that makes you want to slap your grandma….not really but it was still a damn good goal.
You can vote that goal for Goal of the week here.
3)My foot in mouth disease – Earlier in the season I vented my frustrations with the fact we were only relying on De-Ro and Ching as our main motive of attack, well guess what I was wrong….really really wrong..when the going gets tough go out and buy…Kei Kamara and Nate Jaqua(Verison2.0) are superb and I couldn’t ask for anything more as they have shown they can score to without the two Mr. Dependable.
4)Stadium Talk – With the sound of 3-peat ringing throughout the streets it seems as if Mayor Bill White has finally heard the whims of people and it looks to me as a deal is about to be agreed. Rumor has it that public funding will be used but only in the 10-15$million range and the brunt of the expense put on the Dynamo organization. Apparently the deal will be completed by the end of summer but its September…
So as the season quickly begins to close and the play-off hype begins the Orange army can go into the close season with good feeling as it looks as if we might get to MLS Cup 08′ with a team that no longer revolves around a 2 man team and its looking mighty good.
Our next game will be another old vs. new with San Jose 2.0 taking us on from Buckshaw this saturday if we continue with this hot streak then they shouldn’t be a problem but as always in the MLS the unpredictable happens quite often….
