Free Ballin’

Your Houston Dynamo will entertain you with a friendly this weekend. Best of all, it’s free. How’s that for a slice of fried gold? The opposing side will be none other than the Laredo Heat (not to be confused with Latino Heat). Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00am at Robertson Stadium or the Carl “Uh-oh†Lewis Complex, which both can be found somewhere on the University of Houston campus.
Laredo Heat is a member of USL Premier Development League. As you may remember, the Dynamo’s teen phenom Felix Garcia plays for Laredo, although I’m hearing he won’t play in this weekend’s match. That sucks. I’d like to see what he can do. But if you REALLY want to see him in action, Laredo will be playing against Houston Leones on May 30th and June 18th. Both games will be held at Soccer World Center in Richmond, TX.
As well, it’s not too likely to see many Orange starters on the pitch either. It should be a great opportunity for the staff to evaluate some of the lesser used talent. Hopefully Mr.Akinbiyi will grace us with his Englishness. It would be a good start for him to become more acclimated to the heat. (Against the Laredo Heat, get it?)
