Dynamo Get Punk’d

*The Dynamo Girls: Version 2010?*

So we all have our guilty pleasures. I count among mine gummy bears (but only the gold Haribo kind), Salt and Vinegar flavour crisps and Avril Lavigne. *Sigh* Yes, yes, I know. One other I indulge in on a daily basis is the ever popular and sometimes accurate MLS-Rumors.net I guess it does call itself “rumors” as a disclaimer, so I can’t be too harsh – and its a darn fun read to boot!

Which brings me to the point of the post – as I was scrolling through the MLS Rumors site at work today, trying desperately not to think of open item logs and project plans, I came across an awesome post proposing MLS as “the Punk Rock of American sports”. Great concept. Slightly quirky underground, but popular, movement that exudes passion and extremes of emotion outside of the mainstream of it’s genre. It’s cool to be uncool. I like it. So included as evidence are a number of bands/performers who are punk – and to my surprise, I find a Houston band I hadn’t heard of that was really good – singing about our very own Men In Orange! Thought it was cool, so posting here for y’all to check it out….introducing Houston’s very own

All very interesting – although I’m still looking for the Dallas entry. Seems to be MIA, much like their team. I’m off to shout at people loudly, smash some chairs and throw my laptop out the window. Catch me in the unemployment line tomorrow – but then, where else would any self respecting punk rocker be…..??
