Dear Toronto FC…

By: Jeremy | July 14th, 2009

It is with a heavy heart that I try to find words to express my condolences. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

BMO Field’s long-awaited alcohol ban has finally been announced, as Toronto FC’s Saturday’s match against league-leading Houston Dynamo will be a dry game. The punishment stems from an offense in May 2008, when BMO Field was found guilty of serving alcohol to minors.

I wish I had words to comfort and sustain you in your grief, but I know there are none that will take away any pain you are feeling now. My heart aches for you. My arms long to embrace your women. Even my knees know your grief, as I have been on them in prayer for you.

May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.

Beer, we will never forget you.

FOREVER ORANGE

As a Torontonian (not much of a TFC fan), I don’t really care to buy watered down beers at $10 a pop. But I hope DeRo puts a couple in the Dynamo net!

My fandom can’t afford a trip to even a wonderful city like Toronto, but a game with no beer? That’s just not right…

So much for home field advantage. Just as well though, facing the Dynamo can be quite a sobering experience.
