Bold Prediction: We will beat the Rev’s.

Yep, lets break your hearts again and again……
Ok…sorry about that needed to get that out, I ran into a crazed Revolution fan today that went a little nutso on me, really really really really random considering this is Texas.
First of all congrats to the USMNT on their 3-0 win over Poland, I was semi disappointed that all 3 goals came off set pieces but…a win is a win.
Quick thought about the game this Saturday..
The game this weekend is going to be an absolute cracker I really advice you to tune it this weekend for the double header showing on Fox Soccer Channel, In the past I read a lot about how if the Revolution had a team on the east coast closer to them they would have a bigger rivalry. While this is true in some sense, I still will defend the fact that Houston and the Revolution have a nice little one going on themselves, just look at the past 2 seasons and you’ll see why if you don’t know already.
Things to look for…
1)NOT Ricardo Clark – Our karate kicking mid-fielder earned himself a 9 match suspension last year for kicking Carlos Ruiz in the side…not the head. He has only 2 more games of that remaining, but can play in the CONCACAF Champions Cup match (AKA Mickey Mouse Cup).
2)Franco Caraccio – Look for him to come on as a late on sub, I’m don’t think he’ll get the start. In action for only 3 matches, One I read about the other two I watched he looked like the real deal, he is a quick pacey forward that has some height on him looks to be a deadly threat. Give him time though, I feel for this kid he is only 21 and he just moved to the U.S.A. from Argentina he must be going threw a demanding time at the moment.
3)Craig Weibel – Our ever dependable back man had good but shaky game against Municipal, but look for him to come threw in this game and show what a great player he really is, the injury report says he’s probable but I think he’ll start.
4)The high intensity of the match. – Both teams are going to come out kicking and screaming to get the first goal, look for good defensive efforts on both sides, the Dynamo and Rev’s both have world class keepers in Onstad and Reis and both will be tested.
5)Brian Ching – One of my favorite players in MLS has not had the greatest start, plenty of chances but nothing to show, I hope he can step up on Saturday and put those chances away for a deserved goal. If anyone can hold up play its Ching he’s very strong presence and will easily get past defenders with his power and strength.
Being the start of the MLS season this will be somewhat of a “Super Cup” as they call it, where the team that won the league and domestically face off so….expect crunching tackles in the midfield and creativity in our main man D-RO. Rev’s will be without temperamental talented forward Khano Smith due to international duty with Bermuda, woot!
So I leave you with a few thoughts and concerns, but I will be cheering on my team on but will be leaving for Seattle tomorrow morning, everyone have a great and safe start to the MLS season! I’ll be back Monday with match report.

You know, I havent the slightest idea this season what to make of Houston and New England.
Better? Worse? No clue.
Hence why I am staying away from BOTH in MLS Fantasy!
