Blackpool Fans Adopt Houston Dynamo
By: Marc | August 13th, 2007Fans of an English soccer team, Blackpool FC, have run a poll and adopted the Houston Dynamo! This means their fans will follow the Dynamo throughout the MLS Season, rooting for Houston to finish as champions again.
Why did Blackpool do this? Apparently it’s a color thing: the Dynamo Orange is close to Blackpool’s Tangerine. (I suppose this means Aston Villa fans will adopt the woeful Colorado Rapids.)
But there’s also another reason:
“[Houston] boast the awesome Paul Dalglish who everyone knows is a former Blackpool FC player.”
Ain’t that cool? We Houston fans ought to return the favor and support Blackpool. After all, we’ve already got the colors!
