Assesing the damage

Not much in the news dryer today, our HBIC(J/K dom I love joo!) seems to think that the Pan-Pacific tourney will not have much of an impact on our season.
I can’t find a reason for hosting such a tournament besides preseason warm-up, the total turnout for the whole thing was a measly 38,000, even with hometown hero Brian Ching and Golden balls the star power just couldn’t turn out the numbers….its a little disappointing when you want to see MLS grow it seems no one caught the cat scratch fever. Over all I was a little confused with the quality of play I wasn’t expecting a 3-0 win over Sydney F.C. to turn into a 6-1 smashing by Gamba but I guess that’s just how the game goes. I didn’t take this tournament to seriously because I don’t think it will have any implications of how our regular season will go, what do you fellow orangie’s think?
