All For Knot

Your Houston Dynamo and the New York Red Bulls reunited Saturday evening to dazzle us with a flurry of yellow and red cards. Despite the aggressive play by both sides, neither team was able to push the ball across the goal line. The lack of offense has nearly become Astro-like.

The match took a scary turn in the early goings as Kei Kamara attempted to head the ball but instead struck the skull of Red Bulls goalkeeper Danny Cepero. Although I’ve never questioned the bone density of a soccer player from Sierra Leone, I believe we can safely assume it is slightly greater than a goalkeeper from New York. The report is Cepero fortunately only suffered a concussion. This incident also gave way for backup keeper Alec Dufty to make a lofty impression. And he did just that as he blanked the opposition.

Another MLS debut was Mike Chabala of the Dynamo. His play was a little too aggressive and was shown the door after about twenty minutes of action. Nice job.

Final Score: 0-0
Dynamo Record: 0-2-2, 2 points

I must have missed that. It was probably during the time my dog decided to bolt down the street and I had to chase after her (speaking of bitch moves). I’ll watch it again tonight.

But enough about the play on the field. let’s talk about the important stuff: What the hell is up with Onstad’s hair? Grecian Formula, anybody?

I always thought Onstad had the best hair in MLS (okay, maybe tied with Beckerman.) And keepers are supposed to look mature.

I would hereby like to start a “Bring Back the Grey!” petition.

I think this calls for a “best hair in MLS” Competition.

If you watch Brian Ching, his hair never moves. Ever. maybe that’s why he misses sitters from 5 yrds that my grandma could score (and she has passed away) – the ball take erratic bounces off his bonce.

…and just to show i hold no favoritism on the subject…my worst hair in MLS goes to….Kyle Bekerman, RSL.

I checked the “DIRTY PLAYER” move by Holden. It was right after Brad Davis got kicked in the face, which looked much worse.

Orange Man, I agree. I was pleased with Chabala. He didn’t deserve a red card. Yes, he went spikes up but does it really matter if you hit all ball? OK, mostly ball? Had there not been a red the other way just prior to that he would have received a yellow, if that. He was trying very hard to make a good impression, which he did, but the ref was a little trigger happy at that point.
