A Mixed Bag

By: Jeremy | August 14th, 2009

A general rule I have is to always find a humorous picture that encompasses the general topic of the article. Today we have a photo of the Richie Havens Mixed Bag album. The article is truly a mish-mash of whatever I felt like posting, also known as a mixed bag. The humor is that I actually have this album. Hey, it’s a good album.

Speaking of bags… Adrian Beltre of the Seattle Mariners suffered a “seriously contused testicle” when a ball hit his ball Wednesday night. That can’t be pleasurable.

One good thing to come out of watching the US/Mexico match on a Spanish station was the commercial that featured an appearance by Paulina Rubio. I had never heard of her before, but holy crap! She is smokin’ hot!

Landon Donovan has the swine flu.

This doesn’t look like an appealing product but I’m sure there is someone out there that thinks it’s “new and exciting”. Personally, I think it’s a little creepy.

Now on to Dynamo news! Real Salt Lake announced the acquisition of midfielder/forward Nelson González via a loan deal from Argentine side Quilmes Atlético Club. González will be eligible to make his Major League Soccer debut this Saturday, August 15, when the Utah side plays host to the Western Conference-leading Houston Dynamo at Rio Tinto Stadium.

The Dynamo/Salt Lake Game Guide shows the Dynamo will be wearing their Hooters uniforms (white tops and orange shorts) tomorrow. I believe it is the second time this season for that particular kit. At least it’s not this, or this.

Why does the Dynamo continue to start Julius James? Why not Mike Chabala? What about Craig Waibel?

Enjoy the game tomorrow.

I’m pretty sure James won’t be starting since he was just traded :)

The Houston Dynamo re-acquired defender Ryan Cochrane, a key piece in their back-to-back MLS Cup championships, on Friday in a trade with the San Jose Earthquakes.
In exchange for Cochrane, the Dynamo sent an international roster slot to San Jose. Cochrane will join the Dynamo in Utah for Saturday night’s game against Real Salt Lake.
