SuperLiga Creates Dynamo Fans
By: Marc | August 22nd, 2007Nice posting on Football365 where a fan talks about the differences between MLS/SuperLiga and the EPL (scroll down to the letter “The Man Makes Some Solid Points “).
He leads off:
Having watched last night’s Superliga game between my adopted home city team (Houston Dynamo) and Mexican Champions Pachuca – I thought I would share some observations with you about how it may be argued that it is better to be fan of MLS team than Premier League team.
He then lists a number of reasons MLS is better for the fan, including the fact that players don’t make huge sums of money, crowds are “respectable,” tickets are cheap, TV coverage is free, every team has a chance to win the league (parity), and that you can bring beer into the stands.
Let the debating begin!

I’m a long time fan of the EPL. This year is the first year that I purchased Direct Kick in an attempt to follow the MLS more closely. There are many different factors that lead to creating a fan base and broadcast quality is one of them. I would have to say that the EPL will be more enjoyable for me to watch until I start to get more consistent quality in MLS game broadcasts.
On the topic of the SuperLiga – here are some photos from the Houston v Pachuca semifinal: http://bladesofblue.blogspot.com/2007/08/houston-vs-pachuca-slideshow.html
